Apex Agent Studio · built for Claude tool use

Ship Claude agents that pick the right tool.

Many agent failures start in the tool definitions themselves. Apex Agent Studio lets you design, lint, simulate and export Claude tool-use agents, so you catch those problems before your users do.

The problem

Agents fail quietly when their tools are poorly described.

Claude chooses tools and fills in arguments from your names, descriptions and schemas. When those are vague, the failures look like model mistakes and are hard to debug.

The wrong tool gets called

Overlapping or one-line descriptions leave the model guessing which tool fits the request.

Arguments are malformed

Undocumented parameters, missing formats and loose types produce inputs your backend rejects.

Error paths go untested

Timeouts, outages and invalid calls only show up in production, after the agent has already shipped.

The product

One workspace from tool schema to production code.

Apex Agent Studio covers the whole loop of building a Claude tool-use agent, from the first schema to an SDK-ready agent loop.

01 · DESIGN

Visual schema builder

Define tools and parameters visually and watch the Anthropic input_schema update live. Import existing tools in Anthropic, MCP or OpenAI format.

02 · LINT

Tool-quality linter

A 0–100 score per tool. Flags API-invalid schemas, thin descriptions, undocumented parameters and overlapping tools, with one-click fixes.

03 · SIMULATE

Agent run replay

Step through reasoning, tool calls, schema validation, retries, latency and tokens. Use the free simulator, or run live against Claude with your own key.

04 · EXPORT

Production code

One click exports Python or TypeScript agent loops for the official Anthropic SDK, plus cURL and request JSON.

How it works

From a pasted schema to a tested agent in minutes.

No install and no account. Open the Studio and start with your own tools or a template.

STEP 1

Bring your tools

Paste existing definitions or start from a template. Apex reads Anthropic input_schema, MCP inputSchema and OpenAI function formats.

STEP 2

Fix what the linter finds

Work through the score: name tools clearly, explain when to use each one, and document every parameter.

STEP 3

Simulate, then export

Replay real requests, inject a malformed call to test recovery, then export the agent loop to your codebase.

Privacy by design

Your keys and tools stay with you.

  • Everything runs in your browser. Apex has no backend that stores your projects.
  • In live mode, your API key goes only to api.anthropic.com, directly from your browser.
  • Share links contain your project, never your key.
Roadmap

Where Apex is going next.

  • Schema builder, linter, simulator and SDK export available now
  • CLI and GitHub Action that run the linter on every pull request next
  • Team workspaces with shared projects and version history planned
  • Regression test suites for tool selection across model versions planned
About

Apex Labs builds developer tools for AI agents.

Apex Labs was founded by Emin Qurbanov to make AI agents dependable in production. We start where we believe many agent failures begin: the interface between the model and the tools it calls.

Apex Agent Studio is our first product. It is built for Claude and its tool-use API, and it exports code for the official Anthropic SDK.

We are looking for early design partners: teams shipping agents on Claude who want better tool definitions and fewer production surprises. Get in touch →
